Is it just me? Or do you know the same?

Shopping for shoes is always a pain…

The style isn’t right, or the size is all wrong,

Finding a fit just takes so damned long…

Is it my feet, which fail to conform,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

Lined up on the shelves, are multiple styles,

I can sense that this purchase, will take me a while,

Heels, flats and pumps, which ones should I choose?

When really I just need, some bog standard shoes…

Between all the styles, my mind is quite torn,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

A pair in light blue quite catches my eyes,

But as I expect… they don’t have my size…

Did I miss the right box? Should I just check again?

But even search three, is sadly in vain?

Is it my feet, which fail to conform,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

So onward I traipse, up and down aisles,

It feels like the shelves just go on for miles.

And yet all the shoes, look almost the same,

A different colour, or a different name.

Between all the styles, my mind is quite torn,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

And there at the death, I find a nice pair,

The right size too, so I sit on a chair,

Putting them on, the left fits alright,

The other however, is overly tight

Is it my feet, which fail to conform,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

I put the shoes back, not caring where,

It is quite rude I know, but I just do not care.

I’m going to persist, browsing the display,

Even if really, it will take me all day.

Between all the styles, my mind is quite torn,

Oh! why are my efforts always forlorn?

And there as hope fades, I finally see,

The shoes that I think, may actually suit me,

The fit is just right, the colour is too,

So just to be sure, I’m going to buy two!!
