If any proof were needed of the contempt in which the democratic process is held in Westminster, one need only look at he recent move by the current government: faced with several defeats the government nominates a further 9 peers in an attempt to force through future legislation.

So this is what democracy is to them: if the public’s representatives don’t support what you want, then add some that will in an attempt to outvote them.  Welcome to a British Democracy…
